The main equipments involved in the production of precision strips are Steel Roll preparing line, Cold Rolling Mill, Bright annealing furnaces, Stretch‐bend‐leveling line, cleaning and picking line, Vertical slitter line, De‐burred and round line, Grinding, Re‐rolling line, and some other necessary equipments.
Precision stainless steel strip manufacturing process starts with the controlling and rewinding of the mother coil to guarantee the highest quality. After that its introduced to a cold rolling mill to achieve the final desired thickness of the steel strip ensures strip surface quality, flatness of the strip and the variation of the thickness to stay within the standards. Then, annealing is performed on the steel strip through a heat treatment; the microstructure of the material is altered in order to provide the desired mechanical properties. Cold rolling process leaves oil residues on the surface for which Degreasing process is done which washes off oil by hot alkaline rinsing.
The tension leveling is performed by means of a skin pass mill, a machine that, in addition to improve the mechanical properties, helps to improve the final brightness of the steel. That way, the desired characteristics of the final product are guaranteed.
The precision strip steel manufacturing process ends with the slitting, where slitting knives of the highest precision are used to obtain the final width and burr level of the cold rolled precision strip steel.
