The Welding nature of Hot Rolled Products permits its use in different construction sectors such as railroad tracks, equipment such boom cranes manufacturing of structural beams, sections also as the base material for Cold Rolled Coils.
Hot Rolled Coils
HRC & How it is produced
“Semi-finished steel such as billets, slabs are reheated above the recrystallization temperature —over 1,700˚F, which is then passed through various rollers to get the desired dimensions. The rolled steel is winded into coils and left to cool down which gives us Hot Rolled Coils. The cooling may cause the steel to shrink and therefore there is less control over its final shape and size. Hot Rolled Steel is basic carbon steel suitable for applications where specific shapes and dimensions aren’t essential.
A scaled surface is formed after cooling from higher temperatures, this oxide film is descaled by both mechanical and chemical methods after then oiled to help retard corrosion during storage and after descaling known as Hot Rolled Pickled & Oiled.”
